DOHA, July 12, 2015 – The Board of Directors of Qatar Cycling Federation (QCF) held its inaugural meeting on Saturday to review the country’s preparations to host the prestigious 2016 UCI Road World Championships in Doha.
The productive meeting was chaired by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Thani, the President of Qatar Cycling Federation (QCF) with attendance of board members, Ahmed Al Homaidi, Khalid Arhamah Al Kuwari, Marouf Sheikh and Abdullah Al Hammadi.
The QCF Chief gave a welcome speech to board members, appreciated their attendance at the meeting and lauded their high spirit and tangible effort underway to help the country hosting an exceptional world cycling event in 2016.
The event consists of a road race, a team time trial and a time trial for elite men and women and a road race and a time trial for men under-23, junior men and junior women.
It will be the 83rd Road World Championships and the first time that Qatar, or the Middle East will host the championships.
