Qatari swimmers dominate gold medals in GCC Championship

DOHA, February 6, 2016 – Qatar swimming team kept their winning streak in the prestigious GCC Swimming Championship (25m) 2016 , by winning 33 medals so far at the Hamad Aquatics complex in Doha on  Friday.
The Qatar swimming squad successfully won 33 medals so far,  including 18 gold medals, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals on Friday.
Qatar’s Abdullah Abo Ghazala secured  the country’s first gold medal in  the  800m freestyle ( Class 15 -17 years)  on Friday morning.
On the same track of victory, his teammate, Firas Murad Al Saieedi claimed the second gold medal in the 50m freestyle (13-14 year), while his countryman, Mohammed Abdullah Bohindi took the silver medal.
The team completed  its  campaign in the 10 year category event, by winning 34 medals including 17 medals senior category,  17 medals in U-10 year  category.
The prestigious event is bringing together four teams including hosts Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman.
