DOHA, February 6, 2016 – The competitions of the prestigious Qatar International Sailing Championship 2016 organized by Qatar Sailing and Marine Sports Federation (QSMSF) received an overwhelming response from teams and fans in Doha on Friday.
In Friday’s event, Malaysian’s Mohammed Ez El Deen kept his lead of the standings ahead of his nearest rival Motasem Al Farisi of Oman who shifted to the second place while another Malaysian Omar Al Farooq Mohammed moved to the third place.
The four day championship bringing together sailors from countries worldwide including, Bahrain, Kuwait, France, USA, England, India, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Serbia, Norway , Slovenia and hosts Qatar.
Sailors are competing in six classes including, Optimist (single – teams) laser 4.7, Laser Radial, laser standard, 470 and Hobby 16.
The championship’s Organizing Committee has allocated valuable prize money for top winners where , the first place winner gets QR 10.000, Runner-up receives QR 7.000 and third place gets QR 4.000.
