Qatar Gymnastics Federation event a huge success

DOHA, May 17, 2016 – More than 70 schoolchildren featured in the one-day National and Club Challenge Gymnastics Championships, staged by Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) concluded successfully at Khwala Gymnastics Indoor Hall on Saturday.
According to Mrs Abeer Ali Abdullah Albuainain, the Assistant Secretary General, QGF, the event proved to be a huge hit with schoolchildren who regaled fans with remarkable performances.
“We got to see new faces who could be groomed for future national or international events,” Mrs Abeer said.
The events – held in separate boys and girls classes along with team competitions. “We are continuously aiming to improve the standards of play by giving the kids the chance to compete and learn from the experts. We saw a huge crowd turnout at our latest event and we are happy that the sport is catching on with young kids,” Mrs Abeer said.
“There was a positive connection between kids and their parents at the event. Parents were present to see their children compete and win medals. Clearly it was a great sight to see such positive impact all round,” Mrs Abeer said.
“I take this opportunity to thank the organising committee that put out a great show for schoolchildren to enjoy and compete. It was very pleasing to see the enthusiasm from the kids and their families,” she said. “We will continue to stage such events on a regular basis,” she said.
