Preparation for hosting Gymnastics World Challenge Cup continues


Doha, March 15, 2016 –Preparations continue at the Qatar Gymnastics Federation for hosting the 9th Men and Women Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup, which is set to be held from 24 to 26 March 2016 at Aspire.

The Qatar Gymnastics Federation held an international press conference at Best Western Hotel, at which Mr. Ali Al Hitmi, President of the federation and the organizing committee displayed the details of the championship and the available facilities, in addition to the number of the participating countries.

Al Hitimi added that the number of the participating countries is 33 including 2 Arab counties, Syria and Iraq, in addition to the host Qatar.

Two Qatari men, Mahmoud Al Saadi and Ahmad Al Diani, and one woman, Farah Tarek will participate in the championship, they are well prepared.

Al Hitmi expressed his hopes for the Qatari athletes to gain more points in order to get higher ranks.

The President of the organizing committee confirmed that this championship attracts the world champions because it is a world class competitions, which provides high standards of organization that match the organization of the world championships. He added that the organizing committee has invited many of the presidents of the federations to attend and watch the championship.
