DOHA , March 20, 2016 – Qatar’s Lekhwyia team kept their winning streak in the prestigious Asian Club Handball Championship 2016 with a convincing 27-22 victory over Al Ahli of UAE at the Dohail arena on Sunday.
Sunday’s victory over Al Ahli raised Lekhwyia tally to four points, keeping their dream alive for title clash.
Also in Sunday’s fixtures, Al Gharaffa recorded their first victory by defeating the Muscat of Oman 29-22. Likewise, Al Noor outclassed Al Najma 25-24.
The event is bringing together 6 teams including Lekhwiya, Al Gharaffa (Qatar), Al Noor (Saudi Arabia), Al Ahli (UAE), Al Najma (Bahrain) and Muscat (Oman).
The event acts as a qualifying tournament for 2016 IHF Super Globe.
