Thailand, August 29, 2015- Qatar’s Huzam Nabaah will take on Amin of Iran in the Asian Boxing Championships on Saturday.
On the other hand, Qatar’s Hakan Noradin will clash against Rasolov of Uzbekistan on Monday.
A record 188 boxers from 28 nations are competing in the tournament. This figure means that the current edition is the biggest ever in the history of the competition.
China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan are the nations who are competing in the event with maximum number of ten boxers in the event.
Medallists or the winners of probable box-offs would make the cut for the World Championships to be held in October in Doha – the first qualifying event for next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The Asian continent has got a quota of 66 places for the event in Doha which is the second highest after the European continent.
