Curtains come down on GCC Women’s Cricket Championship

DOHA, December 8, 2015- The 2015 GCC Women’s  Cricket Championship was organized  by Qatar Cricket Association from 29th November to  4th December 2015. The event featured the participation of  UAE, Qatar and Oman
The Kuwait did not participate in the tournament    but Saudi Arabia and Bahrain do not have women’s team.
The Tournament was held at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium from 29th November and final was played on  3rd December . The final match was played between UAE V Qatar.  Qatar lost in final but two of the players  received special awards namely Shazia Tabasum (Best Bowler) and Hiral (Best all Rounder).
The closing ceremony was held on Friday 4th December in Holiday Villa Hotel and Residence. The prizes were distributed to the players by the Manzoor Ahmad, General Secretary along with other officials of the Qatar Cricket Association.
The team left to their country on Saturday 5th December 2015.
The Qatar Cricket Association is very thankful to the Qatar Olympic Committee for their support to make this event successful.
