199 Students Participate In SOP Fencing Competitions

DOHA, March 13, 2015-The qualifications of Fencing Competitions For Preparatory Schools at the 8th edition of the Schools Olympic Program (SOP) came to an end on Thursday.
The finals will be staged on March 20, 2015 at Aspire Academy. The competitions featured the participation of 199 students from 22 schools .
In Foil Event, Ahmad Ali Al Qoradaghi from Omar bin Al Kharab School and Mahdi Al Feryani from Bonaparte School qualified to the finals.
Ali Al Qasimi and Khalifa Al Tamimi finished third.
In Epee Event,  Tanger Roger and Maxines Williams from Bonaparte School made it to the finals while Ahmad Ali Al Qoradaghi from Omar bin Al Kharab and Mahdi Al Feryani from Bonaparte School  shared the third place.
Bakhit Al Naimi from Al Razi School and Nabil Abdullah Nader From Omar bin Al Khatab School cruised to the finals of Sabre Event.
SOP is a pioneer idea that came in response to the prestigious initiative of the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is also the President of QOC, in an attempt to link sports activities with others, besides encouraging school students to practice sport as an integral part of their daily life.
SOP is a pioneering sport programme inspired and staged by Qatar years ago, which has received an overwhelming response from all entities of the country and has now become an annual sport event supervised by QOC along with other permanent partners.
